Tips to get the very best Charleston area vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summer time is high season in Charleston. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Charleston area area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Casita Rosa - Marsh Views - 1 Bedroom has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
