Our top Rental property booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Boutique Home & Resort Pool 'Dewees' has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
