Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to book:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect rental in Isle of Palms:

- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
