Strategies to get the optimal Charleston area vacation home experience:
When to visit Charleston & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Charleston area restaurants, tours, and activities.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick the best Charleston area vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. The Charleston-Where Luxury & Location Meet has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
