A two bedroom apartment in a historic home with original wood floors, a clawfoot tub and two original brick fireplaces. The kitchen is completely supplied with silverware, plates, cups, some cooking tools, salt & pepper and olive oil, plus a Keurig/drip coffee maker combo.
We are available 24/7 for guest needs, although we don't currently live locally.
Our neighborhood is an eclectic blend of original residents and visiting out-of-towners. Based in downtown Charleston's East Side, we appreciate the beauty of a multi-ethnic, up and coming ambiance that's the true nature of Charleston living. We hope you will too!
Getting around is very painless downtown. Uber and Lyft are commonplace and effortlessly accessible, and riding a bicycle or walking are also very common. We do ask that people use common sense when walking around the city at nighttime and recommend using a rideshare service. Carta also has a complimentary bus system, and we provide one parking space (shared driveway) per apartment.

Booking the best Charleston area vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Charleston:
- Start by having your family select dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Quaint Southern Charm - 2 BR Downtown Eastside has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
