Tricks and tips to get the best Charleston area vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Charleston area rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Fully Furnished Corporate\/Executive Studio in prime downtown Charleston location. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
