Tips to get the optimal Charleston area rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. To book the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Charleston area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental in Isle of Palms:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fantastic Beach Home with Ocean Views & Private Access! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Charleston area destination you crave, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
