Strategies for getting the best rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Charleston area rental home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. ????Brand New???? Custom Oceanfront home- Stunning views, 6 bd, pool, elevator has 6 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
