Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Charleston area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Charleston area rental home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Pool + Outdoor Living has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area beach you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
