Getting the best rental experience:
When to visit Charleston & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your Charleston area rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Waterway Charleston Romantic Getaway Water View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
