Finding the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 8D Mariners Walk - Ocean Views - Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
