Located near Fort Moultrie, this property was central to the defense of Charleston during the War of 1812, the first shots of the War Between the States, and the sinking of U-Boats during World War Two. During the Cold War, the conning towers of nuclear submarines would silently pass this amazing home after being armed at the Naval Base. Even today, from the enormous screen porch your family will be able to see the coming and going of hulking container ships, cruise ships, and the Charleston Shrimp Fleet as they navigate the channel between Sullivan’s Island and Fort Sumter. Two bedrooms are located upstairs and feature harbor vistas. The downstairs master bedroom opens onto the oceanfront porch. The living room and dining area also open to the screened porch. The preservation of this home prevents it from featuring a central heating and cooling system. It is closed during the winter season and air conditioning is supplied with window cooling units. Also, in keeping with the historic nature of the home, only a single TV is featured. The huge screen porch is where your family will spend most of their time when not on the beach. It is wide with exceptional vistas and is appealingly positioned to capture the southwest winds during the summer months making it comfortable despite the heat.

- Unfortunately, family pets and ESAs are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed animals are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.

This is a smoke-complimentary property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and peaceful hours (9pm-8am) are stringently enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be supplied for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or events are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized events or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and costs.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit.
