How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Historic Carriage House located South Of Broad. Charming and Private. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Charleston area destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
