This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a modernized dependency or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it located on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old wood floors, tall ceilings, original moldings, plasterwork, windows, and doors exude a special warmth, character, and appeal that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. The exterior copper roof and guttering provide additional warmth and character. It's the real deal!

Offsite Resort Conveniences:
- Access to The Wonderer, an exclusive adult-only resort downtown Charleston 2.6 miles away from Saint Philip Square (guests 25+ only; no one under 21 allowed at the pool).

- Onsite bars, restaurant, and workspaces.
- Note: The Wonderer is a separate entity, and availability may vary. Book in advance for guaranteed access.

St. Philip Square offers a city block of historic elegance right in the heart of Charleston’s vibrant Cannonborough district. Just one block to King Street, walkable to Charleston’s world acclaimed dining, attractions and shopping along King Street.
Earning 5 esteemed awards from The Preservation Society of Charleston for historic reservation, our accommodations blend new with nostalgia - each boasting unique charm and character.

Our top Charleston vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Charleston. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 8A at Saint Philip Square, One Block to King, Stylish Group Favorite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
