How to find the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Corner Lot, Porch has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
