LEGAL & BEST LOCATION
This impressive three bedroom completely remodeled apartment is attractively located in the newly designated legal "short term overlay" for legal short term rental in Charleston. Within the overlay, this property is in the southernmost part of that area which means it is as close as you can legally be to the South of Broad/Calhoun St historic districts without an owner present.

HISTORIC AND MODERN
In addition, some properties in the overlay are new construction. When visiting historic Charleston, why would you want to stay in a new condo when you can stay in a "Carolopolis" award winning historic building which has been freshly modernized with all the modern amenities?

Charleston rental home tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental home:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. (8D) Alexander Wilson House at St. Philip Square has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
