Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Charleston rental home experience:

When to visit Charleston & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Charleston area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. ? THE INNS ? Beautiful 7 Bedroom w Airy Porches! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
