Tips to get the best Charleston rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. - Indigo's cabin - has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
