Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Charleston area rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, shift your family's Charleston area vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your prefect Charleston area rental:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 5 Grand Pavilion by AvantStay
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
