How to find the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your Charleston area vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Renovated Grand Pavilion w/ Sleeping for 10! Steps to Beach-Pools. Plus $250 Beach Gear Credit Avail has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
