How to book the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Charleston area rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 1st Floor Condo with Community Pool & Fishing Pier! In Heart of IOP! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Charleston area beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
