  • Private vacation home

Feel a piece of history in this gorgeously maintained townhome on Sullivan's Island - one of six historic luxury residences in the Bachelor Officers' Quarters property on Station 18. This building constructed in 1900 is just a stone's throw from the beach and the famed Sullivan's Island lighthouse. Located on one of the Island's oldest lanes and shaded by live oaks, The Officer's Quarters is one of the few historic condominium structures in the low country.

This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath property is an exceptional opportunity to be within one block of the ocean and also to savor a pool with the other units (not used very often!). The private pool is surrounded by a stone patio, outdoor furnishings for sunbathing, community grille, gas lamps and a landscaped lawn fenced for privacy.

Station 18 is also within painless walking distance to parks with tennis and basketball courts and playgrounds; the business district with post office, eateries, ice cream and shopping; Ft. Moultrie; churches; and more.

MAIN LEVEL -From the grandiose southern porch, walk up to the main level where you'll appreciate a completely outfitted galley kitchen with a dining area, a comfortable sitting area with a 60-inch flat screen TV and a half-bath, and a master bedroom with a master bathroom that has a whirlpool tub and roomy walk-in shower. The main sitting area and the master bedroom open to a terrific balcony with a sitting area and dining table. Watch the sun rise over the ocean in the morning and set behind the marsh in the afternoon.

The main living space also contains the washer/dryer and storage.

UPSTAIRS – Walk upstairs to enjoy two bedrooms with a full and a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom. This area is great for additional guests, to load the kids into (there is a TV, a futon, and additional seats), or to make your office if working remotely (there is a worktable, additional monitor and great wifi).

This home is pet friendly. Dogs are considered with a $400 pet fee (per pet), applicable pet policy signed, and flea proof records received prior to arrival. Dog must be approved by Carroll Realty. Absolutely no cats or other animals are allowed. Any damages caused by the pet will be charged to the pet owner, and not paid by the pet fee.

Sullivan's Island requires a minimum 29-nighttime stay. Pack your bags and enjoy an extended vacation, even if having to work from home! The owner has equipped the place with many extras and we will provide all the essentials you need to be more than comfortable for a long and calming stay.

ALL BED LINENS, KITCHEN TOWELS, AND BATH TOWEL SETS ARE PROVIDED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE!! How to get the best Charleston area vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Historic Captain's Quarters on Sullivan's! Unique Opportunity to Vacation in a Piece of History! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
