Tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking your Charleston area vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Isle of Palms:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Walk to Beach, Deck, Fireplace, Outdoor Dining has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
