Getting the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it.
