About this Property

  • Sleeps 4
  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1100 square feet

Legal and Licensed rental (OP2024-05543). Cozy 1200sf, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, remodeled 1850 single located in old historic district in downtown Charleston in the active Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. Private courtyard with off-street parking for two smaller cars or one sizable truck. Walk out the door to the King Street design and restaurant district, the Visitor Center, the Farmers Market, and everything Charleston has to offer.

The home is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antiques. It includes a entirely equipped open kitchen, a living and dining room and a powder room downstairs, a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom upstairs. Also supplied is a washer/dryer, flat screen TV with cable, hi-speed internet, and a docking station. The outdoor area includes a table and chairs. Outdoor dining area limited if two cars parked off street.

IMPORTANT!!! Please take notice that a huge adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and will last through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences in the area, including all legal short term units in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays). The City accepts work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will unfortunately be disruptive for everybody. The bright side is there will be a new park adjacent to us upon completion and we won’t stare onto an empty unmaintained parking lot.

Check out d'Alessandros Pizza, Chubby Fish, Barsa Tapas Bar, The Daily, Chez Nous, Revolution Coffee, the Grocery, Vern’s, The Ordinary, Indaco, Leon's, The Darling Oyster, Maison, Little Jack's Tavern, Cannon Green, The Rarebit, Malagon, and Island Provisions... all within a few blocks. Shop the King Street stores or discover the Cannon/Elliotborough stores like Indigo & Cotton, Mac&Murray and Beads on Cannon. Day spas, salons and yoga studios are also located in close proximity.

Located convenient to College of Charleston, MUSC, Charleston School of Law, and The Citadel. 20 min. drive to beaches and 15 mins. to Charleston International Airport. Quick access to all major transportation routes.

Owners are close by and can promptly respond to concerns or offer assistance as needed.

Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

100% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 30 days or more prior to the Check-in Date
50% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 14-29 days prior to the Check-in Date

The entire deposit plus any balance of the rental fee (less cleaning fee and security deposit) will be forfeited if the cancellation is less than 14 days prior to the Check-in Date. Shortened stays will be considered a cancellation and subject to this cancellation policy.

Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your best deal:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Charleston. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 1850 Charleston Single - Historic District: Walk to everything has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
