About this Property

  • Sleeps 4
  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1100 square feet

Legal and Licensed rental (OP2024-05543). Cozy 1200sf, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, refreshed 1850 single located in old historic district in downtown Charleston in the active Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. Private courtyard with off-street parking for two smaller cars or one enormous truck. Walk out the door to the King Street design and restaurant district, the Visitor Center, the Farmers Market, and everything Charleston has to offer.

The home is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antiques. It includes a completely equipped open kitchen, a living and dining room and a powder room downstairs, a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom upstairs. Also supplied is a washer/dryer, flat screen TV with cable, hi-speed internet, and a docking station. The outdoor area includes a table and chairs. Outdoor dining area limited if two cars parked off street.

IMPORTANT!!! Please take notice that a sizable adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and will last through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences in the area, including all legal short term units in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays). The City accepts work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will unfortunately be disruptive for everybody. The bright side is there will be a new park adjacent to us upon completion and we won’t stare onto an empty unmaintained parking lot.

Check out d'Alessandros Pizza, Chubby Fish, Barsa Tapas Bar, The Daily, Chez Nous, Revolution Coffee, the Grocery, Vern’s, The Ordinary, Indaco, Leon's, The Darling Oyster, Maison, Little Jack's Tavern, Cannon Green, The Rarebit, Malagon, and Island Provisions... all within a few blocks. Shop the King Street stores or discover the Cannon/Elliotborough stores like Indigo & Cotton, Mac&Murray and Beads on Cannon. Day spas, salons and yoga studios are also located in close proximity.

Located convenient to College of Charleston, MUSC, Charleston School of Law, and The Citadel. 20 min. drive to beaches and 15 mins. to Charleston International Airport. Quick access to all major transportation routes.

Owners are close by and can promptly respond to concerns or offer assistance as needed.

Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

100% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 30 days or more prior to the Check-in Date
50% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 14-29 days prior to the Check-in Date

The entire deposit plus any balance of the rental fee (less cleaning fee and security deposit) will be forfeited if the cancellation is less than 14 days prior to the Check-in Date. Shortened stays will be considered a cancellation and subject to this cancellation policy.

Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Charleston rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. 1850 Charleston Single - Historic District: Walk to everything has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
