About this Property

  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1100 square feet

Legal and Licensed rental (OP2024-05543). Cozy 1200sf, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, remodeled 1850 single located in old historic district in downtown Charleston in the active Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. Private courtyard with off-street parking for two smaller cars or one sizable truck. Walk out the door to the King Street design and restaurant district, the Visitor Center, the Farmers Market, and everything Charleston has to offer.

The home is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antiques. It includes a completely equipped open kitchen, a living and dining room and a powder room downstairs, a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom upstairs. Also supplied is a washer/dryer, flat screen TV with cable, hi-speed internet, and a docking station. The outdoor area includes a table and chairs. Outdoor dining area limited if two cars parked off street.

IMPORTANT!!! Please take notice that a huge adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and will last through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences in the area, including all legal short term units in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays). The City accepts work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will unfortunately be disruptive for everybody. The bright side is there will be a new park adjacent to us upon completion and we won’t stare onto an empty unmaintained parking lot.

Check out d'Alessandros Pizza, Chubby Fish, Barsa Tapas Bar, The Daily, Chez Nous, Revolution Coffee, the Grocery, Vern’s, The Ordinary, Indaco, Leon's, The Darling Oyster, Maison, Little Jack's Tavern, Cannon Green, The Rarebit, Malagon, and Island Provisions... all within a few blocks. Shop the King Street stores or discover the Cannon/Elliotborough stores like Indigo & Cotton, Mac&Murray and Beads on Cannon. Day spas, salons and yoga studios are also located in close proximity.

Located convenient to College of Charleston, MUSC, Charleston School of Law, and The Citadel. 20 min. drive to beaches and 15 mins. to Charleston International Airport. Quick access to all major transportation routes.

Owners are close by and can promptly respond to concerns or offer assistance as needed.

Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

100% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 30 days or more prior to the Check-in Date
50% of rental fee and taxes if cancelled 14-29 days prior to the Check-in Date

The entire deposit plus any balance of the rental fee (less cleaning fee and security deposit) will be forfeited if the cancellation is less than 14 days prior to the Check-in Date. Shortened stays will be considered a cancellation and subject to this cancellation policy.

Finding the best Charleston rental home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Charleston:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 1850 Charleston Single - Historic District: Walk to everything has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
