More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
