Tricks and tips for getting the best Charleston vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Charleston. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. ? Luxe Executive Rental ? Downtown Charleston! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
