Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Charleston area rental home:
- First, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 1st Floor Condo!! Community Pool & Fishing Pier! In the Heart of IOP! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
