How to get the best Charleston vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. King 583, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Standard has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
