With 4 BR/4.5 BATHS, The Gatsby features all the rich details you'd expect from the opulent lifestyle of the Jazz age plus all the modern amenities of home. From the moment you walk through the door you'll discover gleaming wood and tile floors throughout, where one can imagine flappers from the Roaring 20's Foxtrotted and Charlestoned.

The first floor includes a cavernous, light-filled living room, with simple access to the well-appointed kitchen that includes space to relax with morning coffee in the adjacent sitting area. The gourmet kitchen is designed for the guest that loves to prepare with deep sink, gas range, separate bar & drink center, plenty of prep space, and features an upsized island that seats 4, plus generous seating at the close by dining table that seats 6 guests. Details that reflect the Gatsby-esque vibe include glittering, tiered crystal chandeliers, intricate moldings, beaded fixtures and mirrored accents on the walls. As you discover the first floor, you'll find a sumptuous powder room, constructed-in workspace, guest bedroom with FULL bed and painless access to a close by full bathroom, plus a stack Washer/Dryer set.

The distinctive Deco-meets-modern vibe continues upstairs, where you'll find three additional bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom. The broad primary suite with KING BED is designed for slumber-filled nights and showcases his & her closets with constructed-in cabinetry, and a spa-like primary bath with soaking tub and upsized shower with two separate shower heads plus a rain head. The primary suite opens onto the second story piazza, which offers beautiful vistas of the pool and gardens. The additional 2 guest bedrooms, one which is appointed with a QUEEN BED and one is appointed with a TWIN BED, provide guests with tranquility and privacy.

This prime Broad Street location means that you can walk to all of the top shopping and dining spots in and around Harleston Village and the Broad Street business district, including Queen Street Grocery, Millers All Day, Brown Dog Deli, The Blind Tiger, Oak Steakhouse, Burbages, and all of the shopping and dining along Charleston's famed King Street. Vacation rental tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental home in Charleston:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Historic Charleston Single on Broad with a pool! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
