Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 103G Port O Call - 1st floor condo, screen porch w\/ steps to the beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.

  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
