This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a modernized dependency or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it located on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old wood floors, tall ceilings, original moldings, plasterwork, windows and doors exude a special warmth, character, and appeal that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. The exterior copper roof and guttering provide additional warmth and character. It's the real deal!

Our top Rental home tips:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. M1 at Saint Philip Square, One Block to King, Cozy Bright Stay has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area destination you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
