Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Charleston rental home experience:

When to book a Charleston area rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. THE INNS TWO Charleston Homes 10BR /6BA Downtown! has 10 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area beach you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
