Strategies to get the best Charleston area vacation property experience:

When to visit Isle of Palms & When to book:

  • Book your Charleston area rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental in the Charleston area area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Second row back from the beach, cornhole court, putting green, private pool! has 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
