Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Port O Call C201 End Unit has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Have a great stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
