Getting the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the right Charleston area rental:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanside Shipwatch Villa, Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
