highlights: Barefoot is a 52’ catamaran, custom built in Charleston.

Although predominantly based in Charleston throughout her lifetime, she has traveled up and down the east coast and spent several years in the Virgin Islands. Her unusually wide 32’ beam makes her exceptionally stable in the relatively calm waters of the harbor. As a result, seasickness is a problem almost never encountered on Barefoot. We have a glass enclosed indoor salon and two heads (bathrooms) for passenger comfort.

The two trampolines towards the bow allow for a refreshing, ocean spray providing some relief on hot summer days. The kids will especially love that (when they are not taking turns steering the boat!).
faqs: Where should I park for my charter?
Parking is available for a $10 fee at the Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Waterfront (35 Lockwood Ave), next door to the Harborage at Ashley Marina. Please do not park in the marina lot, as you may be ticketed or towed.

Where do we meet the captain?
The captain will meet you at the entrance to the marina at the locked security gate 20 minutes before your charter starts. From there, he’ll escort you to the boat.

How should I dress for our trip?
Your attire on the boat is entirely up to you and probably will be determined by the level of formality of the occasion. In either case sailing should be a relaxing experience. Keep in mind that the breeze off the water, especially at night, can cool things off quickly. So be prepared. We also suggest flat, rubber-soled shoes. You’re not as likely to slip with them and the rubber is much kinder on our fiberglass deck. Please, no high heels.

Will we be able to stop and swim?
Swimming is not permitted on our charters due to restrictions placed on us by our insurance company.

What should I know about safety procedures, life jackets, etc?
Our captain is licensed, Coast Guard approved, and experienced in the charter boat industry. His main focus is on the safety of all our passengers. Although passengers over 12 are not required to wear a life jacket, we have a vest for every passenger should one be requested. The safety and comfort of our guests will always be our first priority.

Hugenot Church

If it weren't for the telltale palmetto trees and notable landmark neighbors, like the historic Dock Street Theater, a visitor might mistake this church for an authentic French house of worship, tucked away in a European countryside of decades ago.
