On February 8, 2025, Drayton Hall Preservation Trust and Magnolia Plantation and Gardens are proud to present Living Legacies: A Celebration of African American History. This event will engage the whole family with interactive educational stations and scavenger hunts at Drayton Hall and living history demonstrations and stories at Magnolia.
Join us as we honor the remarkable impacts of African Americans in the Lowcountry! This event is included with adult Admission, and children 17 and under can attend for free.
At Drayton Hall:
Hands-on educational activities at Drayton Hall will be ongoing from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Drop in any time and spend as much time with our educators as you like.
At Magnolia Plantation & Gardens:
Guided by living historians and artists from the renowned Slave Dwelling Project, you'll step back in time to explore and honor the lives and legacies that shaped our community. Experience the rich aromas of live cooking demonstrations that showcase traditional recipes, witness compelling historical reenactments that bring untold stories to life, and try your hand at brick-laying as a tribute to the craftsmanship that built this land.
This special event is made possible through a partnership with Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, offering a day rich with history and learning. As part of this collaboration, your ticket includes your admission to Drayton Hall and reciprocal admission to Magnolia on the same day, allowing you to continue your journey through time.
