what_is_included: On this half day tour, you will have the option of:
• House Tours - This 30 minute tour begins on the front porch and is given by a well informed guide in historical dress. The tour will also introduce you to the history of Boone Hall Plantation and its evolution through several owners since 1681.
• Slave Cabin and History Presentation - Look at the living quarters, historic relics, and lifestyle of the enslaved people that lived here at Boone Hall.
• Garden Tour - One of the main features of our garden are antique roses that are over 100 years old.
• "Exploring The Gullah Culture"- Boone Hall Plantation is the only plantation in the S.C. low country to present a live presentation in season of this unique culture adapted by African enslaved people

Round trip transportation in our climate controlled buses and all gate fees are included in the price of the tour!
what_is_not_included: If you wish to purchase food, souvenirs or drinks while at Boone Hall, the cost of those items is not included in the tour price.
Gratuities are not included, nor required, but always appreciated for a job well done!
what_to_bring: Please meet at the Charleston Visitor's Center, 375 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29403. You can spot it by looking for the iron fence and red brick exterior, as it is a massive building & can't be missed. It is a former Train Depot. Please walk around either side of the Visitors Center and proceed directly to the open air bus shed & look for the Adventure Sightseeing tour bus. There is parking right in front of the Visitor's Center & a cash-only parking garage next to the Visitors Center. If you purchased the bus tour combo, it leaves from the same location. Please arrive 15 minutes early, the tour will leave right on time!

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Advance purchase is highly recommended and tours often sell out in advance. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.

Are children allowed?

Yes, and there is a reduced price for children 11 and younger.

What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?

While we welcome children of all ages on the tour, the tour is not recommended for small children. We have reduced price tickets for children ages 4 to 11. Children ages 3 and younger are free with an accompanying adult ticket.

Is there parking?

Yes, parking is available at the Charleston Visitor's Center. There is a surface lot and a garage next door. Parking starts at $2/hr.

Is the bus handicap accessible?

At the present time we have one bus out of our fleet of six that can accommodate a wheelchair. Notice must be given for the need of any handicap assistance at least 24 hours in advance.

Can I bring food or beverages on the bus?

Food and drinks are not allowed on the bus.

Do you run year-round?

Yes, we operate tours seven days a week year-round except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Year's Day. Seasonal hours apply so please check our calendar for the most up to date schedule information.

Is the bus air conditioned?

Yes.

Is the tour narrated?

Yes, the tour is narrated by a licensed, professional tour guide.

Is there a restroom on the bus?

No, but restrooms are located at the Visitors Center.

Is photography allowed at Boone Hall Plantation?

While photography is not allowed inside the house at Boone Hall Plantation, you are welcome to take photos during the other portions of the tour.

Can I carry luggage or other large items on the bus?

No. We do not have space on the bus for large items such as luggage, wheelchairs, or strollers.

Are pets allowed?

No. Service animals are allowed, however.
