Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Charleston. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Charleston area restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite - Steps to King Street has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
