Summary:
The Cozy Island Cottage is located under the shade of sizable live oak trees on James Island. Conveniently located 5 miles from Folly Beach and downtown, you are just mins. from the best Charleston has to offer. This new construction "beachy farmhouse" bungalow features an open floor plan, 17 ft cathedral ceilings, completely outfitted kitchen, live edge slab island bar top, over 250 sqft of outdoor living space, a bedroom with queen on main floor, and loft with queen bed accessed by a spiral staircase.

The Space:
This cavernous, well designed bungalow offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, comfortable tiled shower with rain shower-head, and detachable shower-head, painless key-code access, Wifi, two flat screen intelligent TV's, laundry room, inside and outside seating areas, grille area, outdoor shower and ample space in the enormous shady backyard to play and entertain. The spiral staircase to access the loft is narrow. If you have trouble climbing stairs or are over 250lbs using this staircase may be challenging. Beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, a portable speaker are supplied for you convenience as well as coffee, sugar, bath and beach towels, bed linens, paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps.

Guest Access:
In addition to the bungalow, guests have access the to the fenced-in 1/2 acre backyard, with ample parking for cars, boats, RVs etc. (backyard is shared with home owner and guest of the Island Hideout). Guests also have access to the outdoor grille beside the deck.

The Neighborhood:
Centrally located in a convenient James Island neighborhood, only a fast 5-mile drive or Uber ride to both Folly Beach and Downtown Charleston. Charming James Island County Park is close by as well as eateries, bars, shopping, banking, and convenience stores within a half-mile.

Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are plentiful and economical. There are also local yellow cabs, limo services, and a public transit.

Other Things to Note:
There are two other units, The Island Hideout and The Island Nest, attached to the rear of the front home, that may home other guests during your stay. The structures are separated by about 200' but are on the same half acre property so please be courteous.

The Cozy Island Cottage is the Stand alone in the back corner of the yard.

***We have implemented COVID-19 protocols to ensure the health and safety of our guest. The unit will be thoroughly cleaned between each guest using CDC recommended cleaning products and procedures. In addition, the unit is equipped with cleaning supplies so guest can routinely clean frequently touched spaces throughout their stay. This is a self-check in unit so there is no need for guest/host interaction unless requested. If guest/host interaction is required, we will follow social distancing guidelines to the best of our ability.

Interaction with Guests:
Owner lives in the home at the front of property and can be available for any issues or questions you may have about the area, restaurant recommendations, or activities.

About the Area

This guesthouse is located in Charleston. Port of Charleston Cruise Terminal and West Ashley Greenway are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park and James Island County Park. Charleston Museum and South Carolina Aquarium are also worth visiting.

  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
