Live like a local in this show-stopping one bedroom, one bath apartment located in downtown Charleston. Housed in an historic home dating to 1851, every detail of the rental was entirely refreshed in 2017 to feature antique heart pine floor, tongue and groove walls, European hardware dating to the original period of the home, a completely bespoke kitchen, brand new washer and dryer, and more.

The floorplan is an open concept living room and eat-in kitchen on one end and the one bedroom on the opposite end. The living room and kitchen look out on Cannon street, one of Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood’s most vibrant streets, home to many fashionable stores and eateries all just steps from the rental.

The chef-ready bespoke kitchen features high-end kitchen appliances that make it convenient to whip up any meal – although with so many great eateries within blocks of the rental, it may be hard to resist going out for meals. Off of this living room/kitchen area is a classic Charleston porch, offering guests an outdoor area to visit and people watch.

The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed with plush linens.

The rental is located on the second floor (spiral staircase!) of the home and is one of three units we offer within the home. Please inquire if interested in booking more than one rental and we’d be happy to try to accommodate bigger events throughout our other units. One onsite parking spot is available for the rental – with room to park one more car across the street in a parking lot we lease.

Absolutely no events or late-nighttime noise will be tolerated.

Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best Charleston area vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Suite - Renovated 1850s Antebellum-style Mansion in Downtown has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
