Strategies to get the best Charleston rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Hasell Street -2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
