Walk a few blocks to eateries & parks, grab a $5-10 Uber to King Street, or drive 20min to beaches.

Our neighborhood is transitional yet packed with awe-inspiring neighbors who really get along well. We have cookouts, help each other on home projects, and socialize regularly. Some of our neighbors have been on this street between 70 and nearly 100 years! They've seen some fantastic changes in Charleston history. There really isn't any danger here, but sometimes people can feel uneasy from the appearance of the unique Charleston melting pot. If you're uncomfortable with an area that can look a little rough around the edges, you're probably best investing your weekend in a hotel, as even the multi million dollar homes slightly North of Broad Street have government housing by them. It's simply something else unique to Charleston!

We adore going for walks through all areas of the neighborhood or going for walks or runs to Hampton and Brittlebank Parks near by. Little Line, DAPS, BoTo Bodega, Moe’s Crosstown and Fuel are just a few of our favorite spots within walking distance and great food.

Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Kennedy Porch- Book 2 Nights get the 3rd FREE ends 3-1-24 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
