Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. MOONLIGHT - Charleston Style 2BR Condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
