The Neighborhood - Cannonborough/Elliotborough:
The home is located in the heart of the striking and trendy Cannonborough/Elliotborough district of Downtown Charleston. With its friendly neighbors, cozy eateries, and tree-lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston's classic appeal. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Chubby Fish, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Goulette, R Kitchen and the Warehouse for drinks. Our guests and neighbors also rave about Brown's Court Bakery located close by. We recommend going here for a cup of locally-roasted coffee and the delicious croissants and breakfast sandwiches. The home is only a short walk from the very fashionable King Street where you will find a multitude of great stores – including antique stores, book stores, and fashion stores – as well as buzzing eateries. Publix conveniently located close by on Lockwood Drive as well.
Other things to note:
Our Housekeeping Team members clean and sanitize all hard surfaces of our vacation homes, including but not limited to floors, countertops, railings, sink faucets, appliances, doorknobs, and light switches. The quality of disinfectants we use should remove 100 percent of the microscopic organisms on surfaces, and effectively stop the spread of disease and viruses. Linens and towels are laundered offsite at our linen facility. There is no evidence to suggest that this particular coronavirus will survive the wash chemistry and temperatures in the wash and dry process. All soiled linens are treated as if they are contaminated. Our housekeeping staff is trained to use the finest hygiene practices at all times. With the combination of these best practices, our employees, clients, and guests should be safe from the spread of coronavirus.

Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 247 Rutledge B 4br/3ba has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
