About this Property

  • Private vacation home

Attractively refreshed home in an amazingly convenient location in Charleston’s historic district. A short walk to King St, Colonial Lake, Broad St, and the Battery, and surrounded by some of the city’s best eateries and coffee stores. Sit on the front porch and wave to the carriage tours! Take an afternoon walk South of Broad and marvel at the iconic Charleston architecture! Exercise around impressive Colonial Lake and the tennis/pickleball courts. This location could not be better: walking distance to the top attractions but settled in a peaceful residential area.

The home has been newly remodeled, with an emphasis on maintaining the original appeal. The bright kitchen is open to the dining space with an exposed brick fireplace (non-functional). This flows to a formal living room with french doors to the front porch. The home has a cute little front yard with a modest garden. Guests are welcome to pick herbs for their meals. Off-street parking is limited to 2 cars, although the location makes a car nearly unnecessary.

My wife, Melissa, and I live in the upstairs unit. We have lived in Charleston for many years, and appreciate giving recommendations on things to do and especially places to eat & drink in our city.

How to book the best Charleston area rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Quintessential Charleston Charm on Queen St has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
