Captain Chappy has recently brought on his cousin Captain McCray Chappell. McCray has joined Flatsbroke Fishing Charters to continue the family fishing traditions.  Captain McCray is knowledgeable as well as a local first responder, serving with the Charleston Fire Department.

The captains enjoy taking guests to fishing spots they’ve never visited and teaching them something new. For the captains it’s not about breaking the record and catching the most fish – it’s about leaving the boat with a smile and a sense of accomplishment.

You’ll be fishing on a 23’ Sea Pro that’s perfect for these shallow waters.  We also offer a flats boat option for even more technical shallow water areas when needed. The trips are family-friendly and inshore waters make a perfect first-time experience for the little ones and beginner anglers. The boat is powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine and features navigational and safety equipment.

These spots are home to Flounder, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Black Drum. Most of the time, you’ll be using light tackle spinning gear unless we are pursuing something a bit larger.

The captains will take care of your fishing license and equipment. You only need to pack some food and drinks for the day and don’t forget your camera. Having sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen with you is always a good idea when you’re spending a few hours on the boat.
